How Ledger Live Login Works

Ledger Live doesn’t use a traditional username and password. Instead, you access your crypto by physically connecting your Ledger hardware wallet (like Nano S or Nano X) and unlocking it with your PIN code. That unlocks the device, authorizing the app to interact securely with your wallet.

Step‑by‑Step Login

  1. Open Ledger Live – launch the desktop or mobile app (iOS, Android, macOS, Windows).

  2. Connect your Ledger device – via USB or Bluetooth.

  3. Enter PIN on device – confirms you’re the owner.

  4. Grant access – press buttons on device when prompted.

  5. Dashboard access – view portfolio, send/receive funds, install apps, or add new accounts.

Optional: App‑Level Lock

Under Settings → General (or Security) you can enable a password lock. This means opening Ledger Live requires that password too. It’s not mandatory, but helpful if others use your computer.

How to “Log Out”

Ledger Live doesn’t have a standard logout button. You can effectively log out by either:

  • Disabling or resetting the app password from settings (this clears app configuration), or

  • Using Settings → Help → Reset Ledger Live, which removes all account data on that device.
